This new construction in downtown Royal Oak came to us with builder grade cabinets and fixtures, but extraordinary millwork that we used as inspiration for the design process. We began with the development of a custom exterior paint color that created warm curb appeal. High ceilings and dramatic use of moldings provided a beautiful canvas for creating a traditional space for a modern family. A naturally lit first floor provided opportunity for a dramatically painted dining room in a Farrow and Ball dark gray. Custom relaxed roman shades allowed light control for lounging or TV watching in the family room. In the master bedroom, a formal Schumacher wallpaper was used on an accent wall behind a winged upholstered bed.
